Time to Catch Up

Wow. It has been way too long since I've posted anything! I've just been so busy with costumes, plays, banquet, prom, school, friends, family, and vacation.

So starting from the beginning:

PROM

My dress is vintage (though I can't remember what decade) from this great vintage store called Elsewhere Vintage in the Orange Circle in SoCal. The necklace is from H&M, and the shoes are borrowed from Alena and are Louis Vioutton... I didn't want to give them back. Crap, I should have taken a picture of the details in the pockets...
I went with one of my best friends, Kyle and although I didn't exactly want to go (I'm not a big dance person) I had a great time.

BANQUET:
This year the juniors in Drama planned the banquet for the Seniors...and since I always have to give myself way more stress and work than I need, I played a big part in planning it. It turned out really great though. When I went to Alena's to borrow the shoes for prom I also borrowed this Rebecca Taylor dress (it has a low back that I wish you could see!) and black peep toe Cole Haan heels.

VACATION:
I just got back from vacation last Monday. My family and I stayed in New York for two days and took a Caribbean cruise from there. The entire trip was amazing. New York was incredible, I definitely want to live there, and I met a ton of really awesome friends on the ship that I'm keeping in touch with.

So now I'm just trying to enjoy summer. Oh and I have a boyfriend now :D One of my best friends and I finally figured out our feelings...the last week of school right before he graduated. But we're enjoying our time together, and we want to make it work when he leaves for college. He's one of the most genuinely nicest and funniest people I know. Tomorrow I will post more fashion related things...hopefully :P

Belgian Invasion- A Little History Lesson

One may or may not be surprised at the amount of influential Belgian fashion designers. Some of the most famous being known as the Antwerp Six, a group of influential avantgarde fashion designers graduating from Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts between 1980-1981. The Antwerp Six are:

-Walter Van Beirendonck
-Ann Demeulemeester
-Dries Van Noten
-Dirk Van Saene
-Dirk Bikkembergs
-Marina Yee

Walter Van Beirendonck:
A menswear designer, Van Beirendonck graduated in 1980 and is known for his bold taste. He mixes bright colors with graphic designs and a humorous spin.

Dirk Van Saene:
In March 1990 Dirk Van Saene organized his first show in Paris with his own collection. If imagery is used in his collections it is ironic. At his first Winter 1990-1991 show in Paris, his staff wore T-shirts bearing his name, misspelt in different ways. Picture After some quiet years he made a remarkable comeback with his collection “Black Sissi”. Picture People looking for some fixed, logical development in his collections will not find it. Dirk Van Saene is a man capable of change. Over the years he has also drawn inspiration from the fine arts, citing the work of Louise Bourgeois, Ellsworth Kelly and Diane Arbus as starting points for various collections. source source

Dirk Bikkembergs:
Dirk Bikkembergs has developed an energetic distinct style . His designs differ from all other fashion creators. In particular, his men's designs have an uncomplicated self-confidence.
The colours that Dirk Bikkembergs use are simple and strong: black, white and classic tones such as khaki, midnight blue and grey illuminated by bright, even fluorescent colours. Rough materials predominate and solid shapes are built up in leather, felt and thick, almost architectural, knitwear.
Many details in his collections suggest “heavy-duty” functionality. This impression is created by little details. For example, in the 1997-98 Winter collection a classically tailored suit, with an extreme sharp, modern cut, was worn with a tie knot which was replaced by a similarly shaped metal ring. source

Marina Yee:

Marina Yee pays a lot of attention to details, using rough materials combined with fine materials such as bright coloured satins. She wants her silhouettes to seem taller and smaller. The life of Nomads is an important source of inspiration for her work. In her own way Marina Yee builds images of strong modern women. source

Perfectly cut, monochromatic pieces with a blunt edginess and a punky femininity are Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester's hallmarks. Women with a strong sense of personal style, who don't pay much heed to passing trends, have been coming back for years to her brand of slouchy, layered, menswear-inspired modernity: T-shirt dresses, asymmetric vests, and leather outerwear (not to mention those stompin' black leather boots). Still, Demeulemeester does appreciate the play of opposites, which accounts for a certain romance that flows through her collections, chains and all.

Dries Van Noten:

Style.com describes him as:

Van Noten continually balances it with what Vogue refers to as his "poetic, ethnic-eclectic" aesthetic. His loyal following remains so thanks to his artful and dynamic prints, intricate embroidery, and the wearable nature of his designs. His signature looks include the floral tent dress, the iris-print blouse, and a chunky sweater layered over pants or a skirt in contrasting patterns.

His Spring 09 collection recieved rave reviews and was one of the most well-recieved collections of the season. His geometric patterns and thought-provoking accessories combined for one of the most wearable collections as well. Van Noten (along with Demeulemeester) also creates a popular line of shoes.

Often considered the 7th member of the Antwerp Six, and replaced by Marina Yee, is Martin Margiela. Margiela graduated in 1980 before working under Jean Paul Gaultier. One of the most mysterious figures in fashion, Margiela lets his clothes speak for him and has never had his picture taken nor granted an interview. Like Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garcons, Margiela is not known for the wearability of his clothes or even "beautiful" clothing, but rather the cuts and shapes. It has been said that the cuts and shapes that Margiela uses will be toned down and made mainstream the next year. He has become one of the most influental designers of his day and famously labels his different lines 0-23.

Unexpected Inspiration

Completely inspired by Raf Simons' latest collection for Jil Sander, I was interested in what had inspired him. So, as I'm sure many others are doing, I set out to do some research on ceramist Pol Chambost, of whom Simons drew his inspiration from.

"Graduate from "l'Ecole des Arts Appliques de Paris" Pol Chambost chose ceramic and in 1925 began to design dinner sets and dishes for the Parisian department stores.

After WWII, his collaboration with Georges Jouve liberated his creativity, and he was an admirable interpreter of free forms. He worked also in Vallauris with Roger Capron for the conception and colors of firing glazing.

In 1956 he designed its bamboo line, a whole set of ceramic dishes and vases imitating bamboo. He gave up his complex forms and headed toward very pure and simple designs.

In 1965, at 59 he settled in Perigord and worked on his research about enamel. There he made his famous enameled eggs.

From seeing these photos, it is easy to see that Simons was not speaking lightly in saying that he was inspired by Chambost. He was able to take this identifiable work of art and make it into identifiable works of art as clothing. He is proving to be a true artist and seems to have the the fashion world in awe.

Trying on this Givenchy dress last week at South Coast (Alena almost died from the Zac Posen she tried on). For some reason I forgot to look at the price tag, but it wouldn't have changed anything... It was so perfect. It fit me perfectly, and was so perfectly ruffle-y and classic at the same time. Sigh...

Others I tried on, including a Chloe scallop skirt (so amazing) and a Marc by Marc Jacobs exposed zipper party dress

Penelope Cruz. At the Academy Awards. In VINTAGE PIERRE BALAIN. from the 1950's. that she saw 8 years ago and no one had bought it and it magically fit her. Oh to be Penelope Cruz. (by the way, as I am an old movie obsessive, and I have poured over my Academy Award book, I can honestly say that this was the best show in a LONG time! The opening number, Ben Stiller's Jaquin Pheonix, the Pineapple Express video, the "musicals are back" -I'm a theatre geek- at least until high school musical showed up, what the hell? haha And how they presented the acting awards! Amazing! Oh and Heath Ledger's family AND the Paul Newman tribute video, beautiful)

Before I shut up... I actually DID almost die last week. Well kind of. I got into an accident. It was COMPLETELY my fault as I am an idiot and wasn't paying attention for a minute, but no one was hurt, except for the cars. Mine is being fixed (just the front bumper) so I won't get in back for about 2 weeks. :(

I have plenty of excuses as for why I have been absent from blogging for over a month that I'm sure you will find enjoyable:

1. Finals
2. all my various Drama commitments including: acting in two one-acts, selling concessions at the one-acts when I wasn't acting in them, trying out for the musical (Once Upon a Mattress) and callbacks (and it paid off, I got a part!), doing costumes yet again for another production (this time with a LITTLE more help from my committee, but I'm doing a lot myself again. luckily there are a few people who have been very kind in offering more help than last time)
3. My sister-in-law had a baby!
4. I've been spending a lot my free time watching classes movies... I just returned a few movies to blockbuster: Citizen Kane, From Here to Eternity, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Annie Hall (not as "classic" as the others, but it counts its more than 30 years old..)
5. and mostly due to the fact that my computer was broken and the Mac people didn't have it fixed for three weeks

All I want for Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! Mine was filled with joy and family and all that good stuff. I never realized just how well my family knows me, but based off of the gifts I recieved, I must say they did an excellent job!

my parents:
the best present I received was an iPod Touch. I had wanted one but couldn't really care less if I had to stay with my iPod video as it worked just fine. But now that I have the touch, its incredible. Its just so much more convenient in searching for music, getting apps right on the iPod, and of course the WiFi doesn't hurt either.

They also gave me a DVD of Sabrina, a Starbucks card, and a new flat iron.

From my brothers:
my oldest brother and his wife got me an iPod connector for my car

My other brother and his wife got me seasons 1-3 of the Office

And my twin brother got my season 1 of 30 Rock, a fashion book, and the most amazing Academy Award book. I absolutely love reading about movies and love the classics. This book is so incredible, it has details of every single Academy Award show up to the most recent one, and includes nominees, bios on the winners, and things about movies that happened each year (like who was originally intended for a certain role, who fought on the set, who had been nominated many times but never won, etc.)

From my aunt, a hilarious book called "The Office and Philosophy"

The day after Christmas I went with Alena to the mall. I got these flats from Gap and afterward we each picked up books in Borders and then sat on the couches reading them for about an hour. I bought this screen actress legends book and a Jimmy Stewart biography. (I bought Its a Wonderful Life on iTunes for 4.99...I also rented Casablanca for my iPod which I watched today and fell in love with)

I hope everyone has been having a lovely weekend! Mine has been uneventful, except for a boring and pointless SAT class yesterday. Seriously, the only thing I learned yesterday is to pull in closer to drive-through windows... ;)

As promised, here is my Christmas list. I didn't actually ask for the clothes, considering no one in my family would actually get them for me, but I included them on here. We're having a light holiday this year, so everything I asked for is under $100, with the exception of the dress form and an iPod Touch.

Always Where I Need to Be

Why am I such a terrible blogger? Well, sure I know why, but it still doesn't mean that I shouldn't try harder. School and Drama have consumed my life. I've been so busy with AP English, trying to rehearse, memorize scripts, and figure out my characters for two different one-acts, trying to find time to read over another script that I need to figure out costumes for, buy Christmas presents (to do: find time to go to the mall and Target), work on Sundays, try to have a social life, and on top of it all I have to start SAT prep courses tomorrow which last for 3 Saturdays. Oh the joys... Fortunately I enjoy being busy and having projects to throw myself into.

Unfortunately I have had no time to take outfit pictures. It doesn't help that I have been leaving earlier every morning to get a good parking spot at school :)

So I will leave you for now with a a few recent Foto Decadent additions:

Oh, How I've Missed You

It has been way too long since I've had time, topics, inspiration, or news to post about! I have been so busy and its nice to finally get back to blogging. I have been unbelievable busy, my drama department just finished our productions of "Black Comedy" and "For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls" and I head up the design committee. We're in charge of costumes and set design, and my other co-head ended up taking charge of the set and I ended up overworking myself with the costumes. Its a really great responsibility and it was great to have all that creative freedom (especially since I didn't make it in the shows :/) but the two weeks leading up to the shows were two of the most stressful weeks of my life! All my free time was devoted to either shopping for costumes, making costume check lists, tracking down the cast to see if they had gotten certain items, or making things to make the dressing rooms organized. The costumes ended up turning out great and I worked back stage while the show went fantastically.

Now I am looking forward to Thanksgiving, cupcake Wednesday, and working on my one-acts for Drama....and then getting to work on costumes for our winter show, "The Curious Savage."

...and somehow keeping up on schoolwork, friends, and fashion...

p.s. I finally got my license a few weeks ago! life has been so much more convenient!

Keeping Things Light and Fluffy

Today I am taking a little break from all of the innovative, respected, risk-taking designers, and spending my day with something lighter and fluffier. After browsing a little online I found three designers that caught my eye. As you or may not know I am a lover of all things girly, lacey, feminine, pretty, etc.- even after growing up with 4 brothers. The first of the three is Sretsis, who I have written about before. I last showcased their spring collection, but I want to share the fall/winter one, which is even as delicious as the last. Personally, I don't think the runway show does the clothes justice, and I highly suggest looking at the photographs on the website. (personally, I thought the best looks were toward the end.)

Heidi Merrick:

I am really in love with this collection. It's all things flirty and girly and the pictures are just as great. The only downside to this LA based designer? Don't the clothes look like they wouldn't be out of place in a J. Crew catalog? www.heidimerrick.com/

Fleur Wood:

Like Merrick, Fleur Wood has caught my eye with sweet silhouettes and feminine quality. Again, its nothing TOO special, but still sweet.

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone has a great night! All my plans got canceled, then changed, then back on, then canceled, and then changed again but I'm looking forward to a fun night of watching movies with Alena (who refuses to update her blog...)

This week has been crazy! I've been so stressed out with school and it doesn't help that almost everyone around me is just as stressed. I've been fighting with my family all week and struggling to balance school work (especially a stressful persuasive speech in AP English) and everything else (trying to make plans with people and finish getting all the costumes ready for my Drama department's plays in three weeks.) Luckily it seems like everything is getting better!

Tomorrow I get to help paint our amazing set and then go to a costume party for my friend's birthday. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

p.s. sorry, I have been so lazy and have not taken any outfit posts, let alone have an outfit worthy of any this week. :(

...this has pretty much been one of the greatest weekends ever...

And this only adds to it:
Today I and three other people from my Drama department's Design committee- we're in charge of costumes and props for shows- went on a mission to get costumes for our two upcoming fall plays ("Black Comedy" and "From Whom the Southern Belles Tolles"). After trying two stores which were both closed at that time of the day, we went to Goodwill and hit the jackpot. We got SO many costumes and a few props for about $80.

The greatest part is, I also came back with this amazing treasure, thanks to finding of Michelle and our other friend:
BEST part: It cost me $6 :D

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to face the week! I keep making inspiration boards on photoshop but they keep coming out really small, even though they seem big when I make them. So sorry if you can't see it.

I will be posting outfit posts soon. I took a few pictures this week, but I'm waiting until I've taken a few more and know that I'll keep it up before I post them. I hope I get to take one tomorrow, but unfortunately I left my camera at a costume party on Friday and my friend is giving it back to me tomorrow. Speaking of costumes, what is everyone planning on being for Halloween? Anyone have any good ideas? Maybe once I get my camera back I might put up a picture or two of costume on friday... ;)

yes, yes, yes!! The first thought that ran through my head when I first saw Kenley's wedding dress in last nights Project Runway was "Serously? SERIOUSLY?? Are you TRYING to rip off McQueen?? The judges arent stupid! they called your stuff out ALREADY for looking like dolce & Gabanna AND Victor & Rolf! SERIOUSLY??" And then what is the first think Micheal Kors says about her dress? "It's looking very McQeen to me... VERY McQueen..." To which I shouted at the tv "THANK YOU MICHAEL!!"

Last Nights Epsidode: (spoiler alert) How amazing is Leanne? Her dress was gorgous! it was the only the one that I could imagine a normal everyday bride wearing, while still being modern and stunning. Her bridesmaid dress was great too. Kenley: AT LEAST she did a good job, and it turned out really great, plus her bridesmaid dress was adorable! Korto/Jurell: Korto definitely should have gone! I'm so sad about Jurell!

In other news: I am really excited that the The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art now has an onlin database where you can view all the displays. I was drooling over the stunning creations by designers in their prime such as Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, Jeanne Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, etc.

I hope everyone has had a good week and is ready to enjoy the weekend! My week was pretty uneventful... I really need to find a way to take pictures of my outfits so that I can start doing outfit posts.

Fashion Week: thoughts? LOVED McQueen, the detail was incredible! Dries Van Noten was so insanely wearable and perfect. I cannot wait for Lanvin, Chloe, and Miu Miu! Oh and was anyone else not surprised that Alessandra Facchinett got the ax? With exception of a few lovely looks, it was unbelievably boring! There is such a ginormous difference between her snore fest and Valentino's last ready-to-wear collection (spring 08) filled with bright, girly cocktail dresses and GOWNS, you know, gowns, one of the many reasons Valentino was so loved? Yeah, I think she missed out on that part.

p.s. if you're a tv junkie like me... we need to talk. Who else is angry that The Office wasn't new this week? AND who else thinks that Serena needs to stop choosing random times to be bitch and stick with one personality? (Gossip Girl)

Nonsense

Boredom. Lack of Inspiration. No one to take a picture of outfits/ a camera that captures me full-length. Because of these reasons- mostly boredom- I did a mini photoshoot a couple of nights ago. I mostly accessorized with hair accessories, but there are a ton more pictures which I may post in the future. Then out of more boredom, I went to tinypic.com and made them look pretty :) *yes that is Voge Britian from May, I tried to find the best cover with a celebrity that I don't hate and this one has the prettiest colors and Natalia Vodianava.

Oh and how cool are those blue lace tights? I actually wore them today, maybe I can get my brother to take a picture...

Back from the dead

I'm back from my month of being amish and can finally use electronics again!

What's been happening:
-school started. I generally like all my classes and am taking some pretty amazing electives (Drama and Fashion ROP.) Drama is incredible, the class is fun and some of us take an after school ROP class as well. The really cool part is that I'm on Drama Board and am co-head of the Design comittee which means I'm in charge of costumes and props for all the shows. We have awesome people on our comittee with a ton of talent and I can't wait to get to work with the costumes.

-Fashion ROP...It's fantastic in the sense that we get to do things for homework and for a grade that I do for fun in my free time. I mean a homework assignment was to answer questions about Coco Chanel! And luckily I get to be in class with Michelle, Jessica, and Alena. We got to do this really great group project where we did a powerpoint on fashion from a decade of our choice. We did the 1920's and had a lot of fun with it, it turned out really great (and at least we knew how to pronounce the names of designers...you wouldnt believe the different pronunciations we heard of Lacroix, Alaia, Givenchy, and Yves Saint Laurent. And one person actually asked, "Wait, is Gucci like a rip off of Pucci??" The four of us all had our jaws dropped and the teacher said "these girls know.." to which I yelled out "they're names! they're different people! they're completely different!!") But all of us can't help but feel like we could teach the class more than our teacher is...Hopefully we learn more as the year goes on!

-I'm still a failure at life...I hate DMV workers...

-Fashion week!!!! As with every fashion week there are huge successes, and huge dissapointments. Some of my favorites so far: Luella, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Narciso Rodriguez, Marc Jacobs, Rodarte, Brian Reyes, Jenni Kayne, Helmut Lang, J. Mendel, Jonathan Saunders, Marni, Oscar de la Renta, Thakoon, Preen, etc.

Some dissapointments: Maybe its just me, but I really wasn't feeling Proenza Schouler this season. I think its because I'm so used to seeing clothes that are very wearable and a collection of wanting every single piece. But this seemed more editorial, less wearable, and kind of an exageration of what they normally do. Maybe it just needs to grow on me. Again, maybe its just me, but there was something about Zac Posen that I just did not like this season. I think its probably because its a little reminiscent of Cavalli, and I've never been a huge Cavalli fan. I never thought I'd say this but: I wasn't a fan of my lovely A Wang! He took a risk by using bright colors and taking inspiration from Miami, but I thought that he should have just stuck to his roots. Oh, and PRADA!! what was that? It looked straight of the 90's, but not the good "taking inspiration from" or even going down the grunge path, but I really did not like it all! How could Miucca let me down like that? Of course, I'll remain faithful to all of them but hopefully they step it up next season.

Cannot wait for Paris to start! Looking foward to Lanvin, Balenciaga, Chloe, Givenchy, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Nina Ricci, Dior, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu (you have a chance to redeem yourself Miucca! use it wisely Please!), Dries Van Noten, etc.

-Also, who's been watching Project Runway? Team Jurell! And I think I may be the only person on the planet who kind of is interested in seeing Kenley's collection...

-Friday I went to South Coast (a high end mall in SoCal) with Michelle and Alena in hopes of finding them some homecoming dresses. It wasn't exactly the best place to look considering everything is way too expensive for all of us combined! But we had tons of fun drooling inside designer stores. It was really excited because both the Christian Louboutin store and the Balenciaga store opened last week. The Balenciaga store was my favorite! And a saleswoman even commented on my (not exactly real Balenciaga) bag, asking where I got it because she had never seen that that size before. I had to admit that it was a knock-off bought in Italy, but I was happy because she said she was impressed with how real it looked. A women in Yves Saint Laurent even complimented me on it :D One of the really cool things about the Balenciaga store was that Balenciaga has an exclusive line where they picked 10 looks from Cristobal Balenciaga's archives and recreated them for a limited time. As you can guess, they were stunning.
Michelle found a dress in H&M which looked fantastic on her and she'll have a lot fun dressing it up with bright accessories.
Alena tried on an AMAZING Elizabeth and James dress in Intermix, that looked like it was made for her (which isnt hard to do considering she has a perfect body...). Now all she has to do is convince her mom to shell out the $225...

Some things I'm excited about:

-I was finally able to purchase a really great navy vintage blazer! It fits perfectly and it pretty light weight, which make is CA wearable
-Urban Outfitters has tights 2 for $20. I bought a blue/grey pair and a heavy purple pair
-Alexander Wang's upcoming diffusion line
-Comme des Garcons upcoming H&M line
-Thakoon's upcoming Target line (was the alexander mcqueen one just a rumor?)
-The latest issue of Bazaar which not only has Alber Elbaz dresses as James Bond, but Karl Lagerfield admitting to loving rap
-I went to the library and came back with lots of goodies: Books that have biographies of most of the influential and important designers throughout time, and biographies on: Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Katherine Hepburn, and Jackie O.
-About a week and a half ago I visited the FIDM (fashion institute of design and merchandising) with Alena and Michelle (sadly Jessica was unable to join us!) and found my dream school. Seriously one floor holds Kelli's winning look from the grocery challenge on this season of Project Runway, AND an entire wall of Christian Dior ORIGINAL sketches complete with pattern samples, dating back to the 30's and 40's. The only thing separating us was a piece of glass. I decided that I MUST go to this school! ...and convince my mom to somehow let me go...
-September is quickly approaching... we all know what that means: Fashion Week(s)!

And what I am not so excited for:
-I probably won't be able to post agian until after Sept. 19! I got into some trouble with my parents (which i kind of ironic that out of ALL my friends, me, the innocent one, is in trouble) and am banned from electronics for a month! My parents are out of town this weekend so I snuck on. It wasn't anything major; I said I was going to the movies, plans with my friends changed, ended up not going to the movies, didn't call my parents, parents mad at me for lying. So I will have to find a way to see all the spring shows, since I am not allowed to use the computer. This means my lunches at school will most likely consist of being in the library pouring over elle.com and style.com.

Wanting: I really want a vintage blazer and I love these ones from Nasty Gal Vintage, especially the Red Dior one, and the ivory one.

Needing: One of my fashion theories is that Wayfarers make any outfit look instantly cooler, and I decided that I really need a real pair, as I only have two pairs of "faybans". I really love the colored and two-tones ones and think they are a great way to add a pop of color to an outfit.

Coveting: Looking on net-a-porter in the past few weeks I keep noticing that my absolute favorite pieces from each week's "what's new" has been Matthew Williamson. I adore each piece, and think he brings a great sense of bohemian softness with a touch of surrearilsm. I love the little ballerinas on some of the dresses!

Saving up for: I decided that I really need a pair of designer shoes, and yoox.com is the way to do it. I love all these shoes (all from s/s o8) which are all fairly reasonable for designer shoes, but will hopefully purchase the Proenza Schouler sandals in the near future, as they are the cheapest ($128!) and the most practical for a high school student such as myself. I just need to finish saving up for car insurance, buy myself a new bag for school (speaking of which, I need to do SOON! I just need to decide where I want to get one from and how much I want to spend on one) and then these beauties will be mine. After that, I really hope to make the Margiela's mine. I have been so in love with overly chunky heel for a while now, and seeing them on Jane of Sea of Shoes, reinforced my idea that I must get them soon!

Hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer! I was bored last night and (in between rewatching Friends reruns online) created a whole list of things I can post about on the blog (which you'll be hearing about soon!)

Clementines and Cupcakes

Ah, together again.
As a result of boring suburbs, the teenagers in my area are limited to...not much. Countless times have I had this conversation: "what do you want to do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" "I don't know, what is there to do?" "Um..." So in a moment of inspiration, Michelle came up with the terrific idea of having a picnic in the park. With that adorable plan, the four of us- Alena(pink dress), Jessica(purple top), Michelle(blue dress), and I- headed to nearest Costco to get supplies, only to walk around the store for a good half and hour and end up buying smart water and pizza outside. From there we were off to a huge park not too far from us, and somehow found our way to shaded spot right by the "lake" and each plopped down on a corner of the yellow blanket. The next few hours were filled with pizza, laughing, ants, yelling at ants, talk of boys, bows, friends, tie-die, shopping, and more. And what do you do when you and your friends are all looking fabulous in a gorgeous park? You take pictures of course!

However, the night ended on a sour note, even after getting ice cream, with my parents forcing me to come home early and yelling at me when I got home for being "pushy" and "wanting more" whenever I want to stay out later. Luckily all is better with my parents and today will hopefully include the four of us going to see The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, because that is the type of movie that you must see with your girlfriends!

This is Why I need a Full length Mirror

Unlike many bloggers, I don't have the luxury of a.) a full length mirror, b.) someone to take my picture, or c.) a tripod/ a good camera that will stand on its side and capture a full length picture when I put it on the timer. Granted, I could ask my parents or brother to take my picture, but I'm pretty positive they'd laugh at me, but that's ok, because I'd probably laugh if they asked me to do the same. I finally brought over this chair/stool thing to stand on because I'm too short!

I've been feeling a little unimaginative lately about posts, so here a few late outfit posts: (sorry they're so boring compared to the rest of the fashion blogging community!!)

I actually bought a dress from UO as well, but the price tag lied and it turned out to be twice the price. Initially I forked over the cash, with a worried look on my face. When we got outside I realized how little money I had left over, panicked, and went back in to return it.

Designers are better when they're sisters

I first heard about the design label Sretsis (sisters spelled backwards) on The Fashionista Diaries when stylish Bridget wore an adorable dress by the label(left, I couldn't find a picture of Bridget wearing it) on the first episode. I loved the dress and mentally wrote down the designer, but forgot about it until now. While looking on Elle's best boutiques slideshow, I browsed on Milk and discovered they sold Sretsis clothing. This brought me to do some research, only to discover are plenty of more adorable clothes out there! Founded in 2002, designer Pim Sukhahuta, a Parson's graduate, created Sretsis with her two sisters. Pim became the head designer, creating girlish quirky pieces, with Kly, fashion marketer, and Martina, jewelery designer.

I'm Evolving

It's been a little while since I've done a real post, but I haven't been feeling inspired. Luckily a few fashion related things have happened which make for an exciting blog post!

Saturday: As a birthday present, my parents took me shopping during the day and gave me some money to spend. I couldn't afford anything major, but I was able to get a dress, tank top, scarf, and tights from Brass Plum and a pair of peep toe, high heeled Oxfords, along with a pair of navy flats from Nine West. That night we went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill (yum!) and I got a gift card to F21 from my aunt and uncle, gift card to Urban Outfitters from my brother and his wife, some cool paintings of Paris and New York from my twin brother, and a promise to go vintage shopping from my brother and his fiance.

Tuesday: My brother's fiance, Elyse, took me shopping in this cute area with lots of little shops.The first thrift store we went into had all the bad 80's clothes. After that we went to Buffalo Exchange where I picked up two dresses and a Ralph Lauren shirt. Finally we found a great vintage store with lots of fun skirts and dresses where I bought the dress that I am wearing in these pictures below. It's fantastic, beige with a square neck, a-line skirt, and it buttons all up the back. I also bought a cute little 90's floral baby doll dress. Once I get my license I need to go back there! But finally! breaking out of my forever 21 and H&M habit!

Yesterday: Michelle and Jessica came over and we watched Sabrina and Roman Holiday...even though we talked through most of Sabrina and didn't even finish Roman Holiday. I love it when we all hang out! We all (along with Alena who couldn't make it) get along just SO well and never run out of things to talk about! Hopefully we are all going to go shopping next week together and get into lots of trouble (wait, I'll be there...there won't be any getting into trouble! haha) We took lots of pictures in my backyard and here are a few:

La Vida Dulce

Home sweet home! This is going to be a long post so if you dont want to hear me ramble on about my trip, thats all right.) I arrived home late Saturday night (actually it was more like sunday morning) and am starting to settle back at home. I cannot even begin how to describe how incredible the trip was! I've to the point where I have decided that there are only so many positive adjectives and not all of them combined could put into words how much I loved Europe. We arrived in Barcelona on the 3rd, and to our luck, our luggage was lost! Luckily we were meeting up with about 8 of my parents friends who generously loaned us all we needed (one of my parents' friends' daughter who is 26 came with her friend and were so kind to make sure I had enough clothes until our luggage came.) Our luggage finally came friday night, the night before we left for our cruise. Barcelona was beautiful, everywhere you turned there was another little side street filled with cafes and little shops, and the most delicious food.

Our cruise departed on saturday and more excitement began! Seriously, cruises are the way to travel! There is so much to do and never a dull moment! The next day were in France where we visited Cannes and Nice, which were both wonderful. I had a real French crepe, which was unbelievable delicious! We also visited this perfume factory where I bought a bottle of perfume.

The next day was Florence, which was my favorite. The thing about Europe is that it has been around for so much longer than America that there is so much more history to explore. We visited these amazing churches that had been standing for so many years, and saw the copy of David and other beautiful statues. We ate lunch at this tiny restaurant on an outside patio where we got a view of all these old bulidings and churches. It was also the most amazing meal I have ever had! My dad ordered pizza and I got a pasta and we shared, and WOW! It goes without saying that Italian pizza is amazing, but this was the first time I had ever had some. And the pasta! It had all these different cheeses and spinach and..wow. And then we went to all these jewelry shops (too expensive for me!) and this little leather market. I know I've expressed my feelings about knock-offs before, but I couldn't resist getting the BEST Balenciaga knock-off! It's small with a long strap and looks like the real thing, but I payed way too much for it! It was originally 60 euros but the guy gave it to me for 45. So I said: "45? for a balenciaga knock-off?" Guy:"Its real leather! And it no knock-off! just similar!" Me: "well..its VERY similar..." but I couldn't resist.

The next day was Rome, which I seriously cannot put into words. We went inside the Colosseum and went to Vatican City where we saw the Sisteen Chapel and St.Peter's Cathedral. Just...WOW

The day after we went to Sorrento and saw the Almalfi Coast and visited Pompei. Pompei also, was just incredible.

Our last day in a port was Polermo where we just walked around the shops. I couldn't resist a different Balenciaga knock-off (hey, this might be the closest I'll ever get!) but bigger and for only 10 euros, a pair of fake Ray-Bans for really cheap, and a really cool belt. And then I had the best gelato I had all week! yum!

The next day was at sea...and then it was over! But I'm happy to be home again! I'll put up pictures soon! Sorry this was so long!

P.s. My birthday is on THURSDAY! I turn 16!! finallly! AND my mom is taking me vintage shopping on saturday as my present! (again, finally!) :D

oh and in case you were wondering, yes, there were PLENTY of cute guys on the ship.. :D

Tomorrow I leave for EUROPE! We're staying in Barcelona for two days and then on Saturday, our cruise takes off! We're going to places like Cannes, Rome, Florence, Pompei, and more! It will be my first time being anywhere in Europe, so I'm excited! I definitely cannot wait to see European fashion up close and personal! I'll take tons of pictures as well! I was planning on doing at least one post today, but never got around to it with all my packing and then I got my hair trimmed...
But when I get back I will definitely have lots of stuff to share and lots more fashion posts!

Mall Rat

Sorry for the lack of posting! I've been having blogger's block! So Wednesday was a fun mall trip! Tried on tons of clothes and I didn't even find a dress! Some just weren't right, most mostly they didn't have my size! i tried on the PERFECT dress at forever! BUT it was too big, and it was a noticeable big! So I bought accessories instead! Oh and skirt! I got a pair of heels, a bow headband, white knee socks, and A PAIR OF FAKE GLASSES! ..which are basically the coolest thing I have ever bought! Luckily Alena let me borrow a few dresses for my cruise, which I will put to good use! But we had a ton of fun, and I got to see Michelle for a little while before she had to go, but it was still really good to see the two of them! But we missed Jessica a lot!
I've finally been enjoying summer! I saw Wall.E with my friend yesterday, which has got to be the cutest movie ever! And today I hung out with some of my friends and had a great time. I got to see a few that I hadn't seen since school let out, and we made mii's and went swimming. And a few of us got new nicknames..I am now Sugar Packet, apparently. (I'm sorry..In case you haven't noticed, I ramble a LOT)
OH GOOD NEWS: monday the four of us (Alena, Michelle, Jessica, and I) are going to go to the Goodwill (turns out there is one really close to my dad's restaurant!)! I'm excited! And then we are going to watch Audrey movies, because, well...she's amazing.

And then I started chatting with two of them about the fashion from the SATC movie)

Summer O' Fun

summer is FINALLY getting exciting! Today I went and grabbed coffee with two of my guy friends (wink michelle, alena, and jessica) and then we went and played Wii at one of their houses. Tomorrow I am going shopping with Alena and Michelle. Jessica would be there too but sadly she cannot because of her recent knee surgery :[.

Tomorrow the real reason I am going to the mall is because I need a semi-formal dress for formal night on the EUROPEAN CRUISE I am going on next week! (it will be my first time in europe and i am exceptionally excited in case you couldn't tell!) Unfortunately, I am making ANOTHER trip to forever 21...I know, I know I have a PROBLEM! But I need to go the mall because my brother needs to shop too so my dad can drop us off at the same place, and until I can drive (two more months, two more months) I cannot get to any thrift stores. But you better believe that as soon as I CAN drive, the first thing I am doing is finding a thrift store nearby and going shopping!

"Where are you headed in life?"

So last night I had one in a series of long talks with my mom about what I am going to do with my life, and how on earth am I going to get there? This talk was a little different from the rest, though. Normally we are both frustrated because I'm not giving good enough answers to her questions and she's asking questions that I have no idea the answer to yet. But last night we both had some revelations. You see, I am GOING to work in the fashion industry (or so I tell myself) and my mom keeps asking me how I am going to do that, but the trouble is: I have no idea. And I keep telling her and myself that "Well, I still have time; I don't have to have it all figured out now." But I'm going to be a junior this year, so I really should start figuring out which college I want to go to, and what to major in.

For the longest time I had my heart set on New York. I was going to go to college there and find a job there, no matter how many times my mom told me how impossible that would be. So finally last night I came to terms that there is NO way I will be able to afford out-of-state tuition. And there are some opportunities here in CA, so I can start out here and move to NY one day when I get on my feet.

And my mom admitted that she's scared. She told me that the fashion industry is foreign territory to her and its something that she can't help me much with. But she can help me figure out everything else, like money and college, and where I am going to live. She also finally admitted what I have been suspecting all along: she wants me to write. I love journalism, and I am actuallly pretty good at it (not like you can tell from this blog, I am so lazy at writing when it comes to posts.) So I might consider writing for a magazine. What I've always wanted to do was styling and stuff like that.

But really, I hardly no anything about what it takes to make it in the industry. Like you the title "fashion editor" but what does that really imply? There are so many jobs in the industry, but what are they??? I need help! I have two years to figure this out...might as well start now.

I promise I'll post some more fashion related posts (as opposed to my life goals). I think I'm going to go get coffee soon so I should probably get ready...or distract myself with reading fashion blogs..either one works.

I want to be dork! Well..I already am, but that's beside the point!

I am desperate for a pair of fake over-sized glasses. I first loved the look in the Luella s/s 08 show, and have continued to see them on bloggers and in stores.

Yesterday I was playing Rockband with my brother (proving my point that, yes, I am a dork) and was fooling around with my character's clothes. I gave her over sized glasses. The entire time we were playing (I was the singer :P) he kept saying "Oh my gosh Elana, your person looks so wierd with those glasses" or "Wow, you are SO dorky!" But I kept responding "Ah! I look SO cool!"

Stud Muffin

I finally have a studded belt in my possession! I was talking with my brother and mention something about studs, to which he said "Seriously, I think studs on girls are wierd! " I was a little offended considering how badly I wanted a belt, so I replied "Well..I think they're cool on belts and shoes" Luckily, he agreed. "Oh, well they're cool on belts." So I told him how I had been seeing on them on girls and really wanted one and to my surprise he said "I have an old one you could use...here, I'll go get it." !!! So he handed me this studded belt that he's probably had since he was 10, but it's perfect! Well...I do have to turn the buckle to the side, because there aren't any studs where the buckle is, but that's all right!

My parents are having a poker party right now to raise money for the walk my mom is doing for Breast Cancer, and this is what I was going to wear tonight. But it ended up being a lot more casual and I just stayed in the H&M dress I was already wearing. I don't have a full length mirror, so I don't have a full length picture. I really do have a problem though. Almost all my clothes are from H&M and F21... And even though I realize that I continue to shop there. My birthday is next month and from my family I'm planning on asking for gift cards to Urban Outfitters, American Apparel, and Nine West... And if I'm really lucky, I can convince someone to take me vintage shopping!

Phillip Lim does LA

This past week Phillip Lim opened a new store in LA! I have been wanting to do some LA window shopping soon, but haven't gotten the chance. Maybe when I get my license. I haven't been in over a year. Last I went I did The Beverly Center, Fred Segal, Rodeo Drive,(all window shopping!) and of course cupcakes at Sprinkle (seriously, best cupcakes in the world). Phillip Lim's new store looks so clean and chic and I really want to check it out. I really wish he would open some boutiques. It would be great if he had a store in the high end mall thats not too far from me.

I know this is a fashion blog, but whatever...By the way, I am a total tv junkie. One of the very few things I don't like about the summer... At least I get to watch some of the only reality shows I will watch like Last Comic Standing and So You think you can Dance.

I think I'm going to get some people together for an Office marathon next week or something, because luckily I'm not the only one who obsesses over the show!

I've always loved Zoey Deschanel's style, but she has always kind of fallen under the radar for me. Yesterday I was reading Rhiannon's blog and saw the video of Zoey talking about her style to Style.com

Don't you just love her? She's so real. I love how she dresses for herself, not the media. And she loves vintage! She has a great balance of wearing beautiful designer clothes and wearing vintage, or vintage inspired pieces. She is probably the best actress to make a cross from acting to music; not because of sucess though. Instead of dropping a solo pop album with endless amounts of promotions and advertisement, she collaborated with M. Ward and created She & Him, a brilliant altertnative, folk-y duo, which only made me respect her more.

As much as I don't want to make this a celebrity blog, I don't mind doing a few posts on some of my style stalkers. Today I was impressed with pictures of a few celebs, so look foward to some celeb style posts today. While promoting their movie, The Edge of Love, both Keira Knightly and Sienna Miller were seen looking fabulous. While Sienna always that "I just threw this on" look while still looking ever-the trendsetter, for me Keira really stepped it up. I am not sure who exactly she is wearing the first set of pictures, but her shirt kind of looks like Luella, and her heels look like Rupert Sanderson. I do know that her white jumpsuit combo is Chanel (of course!) Is the purple dress Lanvin? I'm usually so good at guessing what Celebrities are wearing, but for some reason I'm just not getting it today...

Sienna...I really cannot decide to love or hate her style.On paper her style should be horrible (for celeb events of course. I mean I would have no problem with this if she was just walking her dog or going shopping, etc.) : cotton striped min dress, plastic sunglasses, thrown on jacket/cardigan. But for some reason, this all completely works for her. I don't know if its just that she can pull almost anything off, or what, but she is a fashionista as always!

Pre-Fall clothes are arriving! I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited seeing how between-seasons clothing (pre-fall and resort) are supposed to be way more wearable than Spring and Fall. Don't ask me why designer clothes coming out excites me, considering I'll never own any of them...but seeing the collections translate from the runway or showroom is always a treat. And there is always a possibility of trying them on with no intention of buying anything, of course. I am officially in Audrey-land. It's the book...I've been browsing net-a-porter and brownsfashion scouring for items that a modern Audrey would wear. I've found tons but I've only made one look so far. It's based off the scenes from Breakfast at Tiffany's when Holly and Paul/Fred are trying new things and she is wearing that gorgeous orange coat. I couldn't find a good orange coat so I instead used a Chloe dress that almost looks like a coat that reminds me of it. I made it on Photoshop, but lately my computer has been acting up and it won't let post photoshop pictures even though I have before. Any ideas why? So I just recreated it on Polyvore instead...

Barnes and Noble-Home to the Great

I finally got a chance to stop at Barnes and Noble on Saturday. The nearest bookstore to me is Borders, so I usually go there. But I happened to be by a Barnes and Noble and got some goodies! I only bought one (reading) book (I wanted to get more, believe me...but I have a growing pile of books I'm borrowing for summer break) but I bought a few other things.

Behold: Fashion Bible! Paris Vogue's Collections. It has the best looks from ALL the fall runway shows! It is very pricey for us Americans, though. $35, and its essentially a magazine. Oh well...so worth it!

This is Lanvin's page (of course) the big names (dior, chanel, ysl, balenciaga, lanvin..etc.) have two full pages worth of looks. The magazine is separated by each week (Paris, Milan, London, New York) and for the most part, by importance. Well, thats a matter of opinion mostly. Lets put it this way, the very first pages are Dior, Chanel, and YSL. Smaller names have one or half a page.

Each collection has a picture of the designer at the end (how could I not put Lagerfield?) And a review of the collection in both French and English (!!!)

After the many many pages of collections, it has page after page of the accessories due out in the fall. (Here I have YSL and Louboutin)

I also bought this fantastic book of Audrey Hepburn. It was right when I walked in and walked immediately to it. I realize that its pretty unnecessary, but for $6.78 how could I pass it up?
It's filled with beautiful pages of glossy pictures of Audrey and stills from all her movies.

Basically...It's amazing

I also bought British Vogue, but here in America we only have the June issue. I was going to buy French Vogue as well, but you saw the price of the collections magazine I bought...I really did not want to spend $15 on another french magazine!

In My Own Little Corner

The world of blogging is a wonderful thing. I have learned about so many things from my favorite fashion blogs. This past week I was looking at one my favorite's, Style Bubble, and came across one of my favorite posts that I have ever seen. She shared with us her love of artist Przemek Sobocki and his lovely artwork from Common Sense magazine, that introduced popular fairytale characters to the world of fashion. All the characters are posing with items from some designer's SS08 accessory lines.This is one of the coolest things that ive seen in awhile! This first one is The Little Mermaid of course, with Dolce and Gabanna. She was always my favorite as I have red hair and people would always tell me I looked like her when i was little (how someone can look like a cartoon mermaid, I don't know, but it made me feel special.) There are many fairytale characters, but there also a few historical figures, iconic movies (like The Wizard of Oz, Audrey Hepburn, etc.), and a few others in between. update: the headings are under the picture they belong to! even if they look like they belong to the picture they are above. Most of the characters are well-known so its pretty easy to figure out which belongs to which.

I just read through the new issue of Harper's Bazaar (Gwen's still in Iron Man glory days...) and noticed that the Proenza Schouler suede pumps/colorful combination were featured again. Everytime I see them, I fall more in love. I love the shape of the pumps, the unexpected suede, the risk of the color combinations... I'm not going to start on how in love I am with the collection itself...I'll save that for when it actually comes out. But I cannot resist writing about the shoes and tights while they are currently in my mind! Oh fall...why are you so far away?

To start my summer of infinite fashion knowledge, I am starting with Alberta Ferretti. I basically looked under Elle.com's list of designer and found the first one in the A's that I liked. Italian designer Alberta Ferretti was born in 1950 and opened a boutique at the age of 18 selling luxury brands. She created her first line, Aeffe, with her brother in 1980. Her first runway show was at Milan fashion week in 1981. Her line, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, was launched in 1984. By 1994, Ferretti was also designing for Moschino, Gaultier, and Narciso Rodriguez. i-dmagzine.com describes her designs as, "for feminine, romantic women with a taste for delicate, antique decoration and simple lines." She released two perfume labels in 1993 and 1995.

The farthest show back I could find was 2000, but it is still too fun to see what the trends were eight years ago, and how she has evolved as a designer.

--Alberta Ferretti's spring 2007 is kind of special to me. It was one of the first fashion shows that really got me excited about fashion. The fall when this came out was when I first stared getting interested in fashion. Sure, I loved clothes and I loved to shop, but I always thought runway shows were kind of boring. But that fall I looked at some online and fell in love. I hadn't heard of Ferretti before, but I fell in love with this collection. So...it's the first day of summer and...

I'm Bored!

I shouldn't be bored, I should be doing things with my friends and what-not, but I'm at home. So I decided to make a Summer Resolution:

This summer I will expand my knowledge about fashion and learn as much I can about designers, clothes, shopping, fabrics, and everything in between. I'm starting with designers but who knows, I might mix it up a little. I'm a little biased and am not going to include every designer and probably won't include ones I really do not like (don't worry that's hardly any). I'm starting with the A's though, so first on my list? Italian designer Alberta Feretti.

School is finally out! Yesterday was our last day. Since almost no one showed up to our 4th period business class (pointless class if you ask me) me (the small redhead), Michelle from Neon Stilettos, and Alena from A Peek at Chic were able to do basically nothing. Luckily I came prepared with my camera and after sharing stories (Michelle), showing off fab designer clothes (Alena), and complaining about non-existent love lives (me) we broke out the camera and took pictures wandering around the school. Jessica from Fashion Extacy was supposed to be there...but she decided she was too cool for us... ok she couldn't come, but she was there in spirit!

Why does fashion continue to surprise me?-Jason Wu, Resort 09

Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've written about being surprised about a designer. Don't get me wrong, its not that I had any problem with Jason Wu, I had just merely forgotten about him. I don't really know to much about him, heck I had barely heard about him with the exception his paint stroke strapless dress being featured in a DIU in Teen Vogue (don't hate me because I have a weakness for one teen magazine) and in an issue of Vogue (I'm pretty sure it was Vogue...). But other than that, his name had fallen through the cracks for me and I hadn't really kept up with him. I decided I needed to look through every Resort show, because well, you never know what you might come across. Well, I was right. Figuring I'd see a couple of looks that would not interest me and I'd switch to a different designer in a moment, I hesitantly clicked on Jason Wu. This was followed by thoughts such as, "Oh, well that's actually quite nice" or "Oh my goodness...this is a lot better than I expected!" and of course: "Is that a cardigan I see??" And instantly, I was in love. While I'll admit here are a few of the looks that are a little..average, for a show. But there were surprisingly more standouts than I expected. Especially this first look. Beautiful. And I definitely need to find out about these shoes... They look fab with these looks!

Simplicity at its best-Brian Reyes, Resort 09

I wasn't very familiar with Brian Reyes until last fall, looking through the Spring 08 shows. Once I stumbled across his collection I fell in love with his simplicity. He kind of has this "I'm kidding around here" quality to his clothes. Theres no show. There's no "Hmm...I wonder how this would translate to real life.." because its all laid out in front of you. Just easy to wear dresses, skirts, and jackets. But don't get me wrong, his clothes still carry that "designer" quality to it. I really enjoy his Resort 09 collection and the incorporation of breezy , casual looks accompanied by beautiful summer dresses that easily take you from day to night. This first look to the left is my absolute favorite of this collection. Dresses like this is simplicity at its best.

Taking some silhouettes and patterns from her fall collection and tweaking them here and there, I feel as if I've entered the backstage of an ice skating competition. But somehow, I'm ok with it.

I've always appreciated Erin Fetherston's beautiful simplicity and have always felt she deserves more attention than received. While this is definitely not my favorite collection of hers, its resort and her main shows this year make up for it. I think the only way I could describe her clothing is...lovely. While I'm not a huge fan of the ice blue numbers (those are the ones that resemble ice skating costumes most to me) a do enjoy a lot of these. The one with the most potential to me is the blue shirt dress. Its a bit different from the other looks, or maybe I'm just a sucker for a shirt dress? There are a lot of cute numbers here that would make for some lovely party dresses.

Color Me Grunge: A Wang Goes Resort

24. Thats what thought repeats over and over in my head whenever I see anything Alexander Wang does. Last week, Wang showed his debut resort collection in New York, and must say, it has potential. Everything Wang designs has a grungy-simplicity, and I really think that in the future, once he is a bit more experienced, he has a really big potential to take it a step further and create some more detailed, high fashion looks. As for now, he is doing a fabulous job doing what he knows best and what we all love about him.
(above): by far my favorite. Wang doesn't do too many dresses, but he really should do more based on this one and a few others in the collection.

Browsing on myprestigium.com I found a lot of accessories that I haven't seen on American sites (its french) or if I did, I found them in wide variety of colors that I had not seen before. Of course they are just pictures, not to buy, and are all in French... but everything seems more fabulous in French right? More pics to come, but I wanted to share these. Seriously, how cool?

As seriously cool as they all are, I would never fork over the hundreds+ for fun costume-y glasses like these. My favorites are the Lanvin ones, of course. How cool would it be to add those to an outfit? I also think the Marni ones are a great pop of color and kind of have that Luella, over-sized unnecessary glasses feel. Which are your favorite?
